COOKING APPLIANCE PROVIDED WITH AN EXTERNAL ELECTRICAL CORD CONNECTION BOX
Technical area
The present invention relates to cooking appliances which are supplied electrically by means of an electrical supply cord.
A main objective is to reduce overheating of the end of the electrical supply cord which is connected to an electrical supply circuit of the various electrical components of the cooking appliance, for example a heating system, a control system and a ventilation system.
State of the art
Traditionally, cooking appliances include a shell incorporating a heating system powered by an electrical power circuit, which is connected to an electrical power cord and a cooking enclosure arranged inside the shell. The power supply cord is connected to the mains either by means of a male plug plugged into a complementary female socket, or by means of a cable outlet.
The temperature of the electrical connection area between the end of the electrical supply cord and the electrical supply circuit of the cooking appliance is regulated, the latter not to exceed a certain defined threshold. In particular, the current standardization IEC 60 335 imposes not to have a heating of the end of the power supply cord of more than sixty-five degrees Celsius (65 ° C). This temperature threshold can be quickly reached on certain cooking appliances, for example on fryers and, more particularly, on hot air fryers using little or no oil for cooking.
Thus, on certain hot air fryers, the shell is equipped with an insulated box arranged under the cooking chamber, a connection terminal block arranged in the box ensuring the connection between the end of the electrical supply cord. and the power supply circuit. The box also allows the storage of the electrical cord inside of it, when the hot air fryer is not in use.
This design has the drawbacks of significantly raising the hot air fryer and increasing its volume. In addition, the temperature attenuation at the end of the power supply cord is not optimal.
Summary of the invention
The present invention overcomes the aforementioned drawbacks. It also has the advantage of allowing its implementation on any type of cooking appliance.
To this end, the invention relates to a cooking appliance which comprises a shell provided with a contour and incorporating a heating system supplied by an electrical supply circuit connected to an electrical supply cord and a cooking enclosure arranged at inside the hull. Depending on the type of cooking appliance used, it can also include a ventilation system and a control system.
According to the invention, the cooking appliance comprises an external box arranged on a wall of the contour of the shell and a connection terminal block housed in the external box and ensuring the electrical connection between the electrical supply circuit and the cord. power supply.
These characteristics of the cooking appliance according to the invention make it possible to offset the electrical connection between the electrical supply circuit and the end of the electrical supply cord outside the shell, that is to say outside of the area subject to significant overheating during activation of the heating system.
According to one embodiment of the cooking appliance, the external housing comprises a housing area for the connection terminal block and an isolation chamber arranged in the external housing to separate the housing zone from the wall of the outline of the shell. This allows better thermal insulation of the connection terminal block which is located in the housing area, away from the shell which heats up when the heating system is activated.
In order to further optimize this thermal insulation of the connection terminal block, the external housing preferably includes ventilation openings which open into the isolation chamber to ventilate it naturally.
According to an embodiment of the cooking appliance object of the invention, in addition to the aforementioned characteristics, the external housing is arranged to form a cable row allowing the winding of the electrical supply cord. In other words, the shape of the external housing and its positioning on the wall of the contour of the shell are implemented to allow winding of the power supply cord on or around said external housing, in the manner a cable organizer. According to a preferred implementation, the external housing comprises a body around which the electrical supply cord is wound, the body extending perpendicular to the wall of the outline of the shell, and two branches extending in opposition to a end of the body to keep the power cord wrapped around the body.
According to an embodiment of the cooking appliance, in addition to the aforementioned characteristics, the external housing is arranged to form a stop making it possible to keep the wall of the outline of the shell away from a vertical plane. This avoids bringing the shell into contact vertically, for example a wall splashback. In addition, the cooking appliance according to the invention comprises a grid allowing air circulation, said grid being arranged on said wall, on which is arranged the external housing constituting the stop. Thus, the grid is kept away from the vertical plane, which guarantees proper suction and / or ventilation of the cooking appliance without obstructing the grid. According to a preferred implementation, the external casing comprises a body extending perpendicular to the wall of the outline of the shell and two branches extending in opposition to one end of the body being slightly arched in a direction opposite to said wall. This keeps the end of the body away from the vertical plane and supports it at two distant points on the vertical plane. Preferably, the two branches have flexibility to absorb shocks on contact with the vertical plane.
According to an embodiment of the cooking appliance, the external housing is arranged on a wall at the rear of the shell. In other words, the shell comprises a front face by which said cooking appliance is manipulated during its use. For example, in the case of certain fryers, these include a tank which is inserted or removed from the front face of the shell in the manner of a drawer. Other fryers include a cover which, in the open position, makes it possible to insert or remove a basket from above, the handling handle of which is positioned on the front of the shell. Other cooking appliances include a door and / or buttons or keypads on the front panel. In addition, according to this embodiment, the shell comprises a rear face opposite to the front face, the external housing being arranged on the wall located on the rear face of the shell. One could however consider other positions of the external housing on the contour of the shell and according to the device in question, for example on a side wall of a toaster.
According to one embodiment of the cooking appliance, it is a fryer, in particular a hot air fryer, such a fryer using very little oil, if at all. However, the invention can be envisaged on an oil fryer, in which the food is immersed in oil during cooking, or on other cooking appliances, for example an electric mini-oven or a toaster.
Brief description of the figures
The following description highlights the characteristics and advantages of the present invention. This description is based on figures, among which:
- Figure 1 illustrates a sectional view of a cooking appliance according to the invention in the form of a hot air fryer;
- Figure 2 illustrates in more detail the rear part of the cooking appliance of Figure 1 comprising the external housing, said appliance being placed on a horizontal plane and pressing against a vertical plane.
detailed description
In the following description, the cooking appliance according to the invention consists of an example of a hot air fryer, other designs of existing hot air fryers and which may also include the essential characteristics which are the subject of the present invention. which will be detailed below. In addition, this does not exclude the implementation of these essential characteristics which are the subject of the present invention on other cooking appliances, for example a fryer in an oil bath, an electric mini-oven, a toaster, etc.
In the following description, the term fryer will be used to denote the cooking appliance, unless indicated.
As illustrated in FIG. 1, the fryer 1 comprises a shell 2 comprising an outline 3 which has a more or less parallelepiped shape, with a wall 4 arranged on the rear face 1a of the fryer 1, while the front face 1b of this fryer 1 allows the insertion of a tank 5 in the manner of a drawer in a cooking enclosure 6, the tank 5 being manipulated by means of a handling handle 7. Other forms of the contour 3 are conceivable , for example a more or less cylindrical contour 3.
As illustrated in FIG. 1, a heating system 8 is arranged inside the shell 2, above the cooking enclosure 6. Similarly, a ventilation system 9 is arranged in the shell 2 , above the heating system 8. This ventilation system 9 allows fresh air to be drawn through an upper part 10a of a grid 10 arranged on the wall 4, this air circulating in a duct d suction 11 then through the heating system 8 in order to be heated and, finally, in the cooking chamber 6, before being discharged by an evacuation circuit 12 opening into the lower part 10b of this grid 10. The various electrical components of the fryer 1, including in particular the heating system 8 and the ventilation system 9, are connected to an electrical supply circuit (not illustrated) which notably includes an electronic control card (not illustrated). All these characteristics are already known on fryers currently on the market, which is why they will not be detailed; a person skilled in the art may for example refer to the hot air fryers developed by the applicant, in particular that marketed under the name FRY DELIGHT®.
The fryer 1 is supplied electrically by means of an electrical supply cord, not illustrated in the figures, as is traditionally the case on electric cooking appliances. The power supply cord of the fryer 1 generally comprises a designed male plug which is plugged into a complementary female plug arranged on a wall; it is also conceivable that this electrical supply cord is connected directly to a cable outlet arranged on this wall wall, for other designs of cooking appliances. The end of the power supply cord is connected to the power supply circuit of the fryer via a connection terminal block, not shown in the figures.
As illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 2, the fryer 1 comprises on the rear face 1a, an external housing 13 which is fixed to the wall 4, for example by screwing. This external housing 13 comprises a body 14 which extends perpendicularly to the wall 4, along an axis X, and two branches 15, 16 arranged at the end 14a of the body 14. These two branches 15, 16 are arranged in opposition and extend by forming an arc in a direction opposite to the wall 4, as illustrated in these Figures 1 and 2. This design of the outer housing 13 has several advantages.
Indeed, when the fryer 1 rests on a horizontal plane 17, for example a kitchen plan, and is positioned near a vertical plane 18, for example a wall splashback, as illustrated in FIG. 2, the ends 15a, 16a branches 15, 16 abut against the vertical plane 18, which keeps the wall 4 of the fryer 1 away from said vertical plane 18. In addition, this maintenance of the wall 4 away from the vertical plane 18 avoids bringing the grid 10 too close to said vertical plane 18, so that the suction of fresh air and the discharge of hot air by this grid 10 are done correctly, without obstruction, during the operation of the ventilation system 9. Preferably , the branches 15, 16 have flexibility, which makes it possible to slightly absorb shocks when the external housing 13 abruptly abuts against the vertical plane 18.
Furthermore, the electrical supply cord, as mentioned above, can advantageously be wound around the body 14 when the fryer 1 is not in use or when the complementary female plug, to which the male plug of the power cord is connected electric, is positioned near the fryer 1. The body 14 preferably has an oval shape to reduce its overall width, but other shapes can be envisaged, for example a cylindrical shape. This oval shape facilitates the winding of the electrical supply cord around the body 14.
As illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 2, the body 14 of the external housing 13 includes an orifice 19 which opens into a housing zone 20 arranged inside the external housing 13. This orifice 19 allows the passage of the end the power supply cord; in addition, the housing zone 20 is dimensioned to receive the connection terminal block ensuring the connection between the end of the electrical supply order and the electrical supply circuit supplying the various electrical components of the fryer 1. For this, electrical wires from the electrical supply circuit pass through the wall 4 and the external box 13 to connect to the electrical supply cord via the connection terminal block. By moving the connection terminal outside the shell 2, this considerably limits overheating at the end of the electrical supply cord and the connection terminal.
In order to better reduce these overheating, the external housing 13 comprises an isolation chamber 21 which is positioned in front of the housing zone 20, that is to say between the housing zone 20 and the wall 4. This allows reduce the thermal conduction from the wall 4 to the housing zone 20. This thermal conduction is moreover attenuated by the presence of air vents 22 on the body 14 which open into the insulation chamber 21 and pass through it so as to allow the circulation of natural air in it.
The implementation of the external housing 13 having the above characteristics, thus overcomes the problem of overheating of the electrical supply cord and, moreover, ensures the unobstructed maintenance of the grid 10 for the proper functioning of the ventilation system 9 and avoids that the shell 2 - which heats - is in contact with the vertical plane 18.
Of course, the implementation of such an external housing 13 can be envisaged on the hulls of other cooking appliances than the fryer 1, without departing from the scope of the invention, by adapting the position of the external housing according to the configurations of these cooking appliances.
